Visit the World Heritage Tin Mining Sites on the West Penwith Tin Coast.

BOTALLACK MINES

Botallack Mines are 5 minutes away by car or a 35 minute walk from The Old Post House B&B. View and explore the Victorian Crown Mines and Poldark’s Mine. Explore the arsenic tunnels or kilns for condensing the arsenic. Enjoy a quality coffee and home made cakes at The Count House with panoramic views of the wild tin coastline.

LEVANT MINE & BEAM ENGINE

From Botallack you can walk 20 minutes along the coastal path to Levant Mine and Beam Engine. This is an old Cornish mine with a restored working beam engine. Levant is a National Trust Site so free for members. Advisable to book for tours.

GEEVOR MINE

From Levant you can continue a short walk inland to Geevor head for the path towards the mine buildings alternatively from Levant car park it’s a 5 minute drive to Geevor car park. Explore the more recent mine which was closed in 1990. Have a real underground experience with Mexico mine and visit the exceptional museum. The cafe and shop are well worth visiting with the delicious pasties available!
